Applebee's Oriental Chicken Salad

I found this recipe on Pinterest and couldn't resist.  This is my favorite dish at Applebee's.  The dressing is so darn good and I think it's spot-on in the recipe.

Applebee's Oriental Chicken Salad
from "Mommy?  I'm hungry!"

Oriental Dressing
3 Tbsp. honey
1 1/2 Tbsp. Rice Vinegar
1/4 c. Mayonnaise
1 tsp. Dijon mustard
1/8 tsp. Sesame oil

Blend together all ingredients in a small bowl with a whisk or mixer. Refrigerate while you work on the salad.

Salad
2 pieces of Crispy Chicken Strips (frozen or from the deli...I used frozen)
bagged salad with asst. lettuces & veggies
bagged broccoli slaw
1 Tbsp. sliced almonds, toasted (I bought already toasted almonds)
1/4 c. fried won ton strips (Jon couldn't find these at the store and bought chow mein noodles instead)
1/4 cup mandarin slices, drained

Bake the chicken strips according to the package directions (if you bought frozen ones).  For the last few minutes, add the almonds on the pan that the chicken is on so they can get toasted (skip this step if you bought already toasted almonds).  Remove and cool.  Cut up the chicken.

Mix together some of each (a good handfull per person) of the lettuce and broccoli slaw.  Top with cut up chicken, almonds, wontons (chow mein noodles) and madarin slices.  Drizzle the dressing on top.

  4. Umm YUM!!! Thanks for passing this along, Stephanie! That looks absolutely amazing. I really like to eat salads in the warmer months (and those have apparently already arrived in Cincinnati)!
