We had a great trip to San Francisco
this weekend! The weather cooperated, we
relaxed, meet up with friends, and got our fill of walking in.
After we checked into our hotel Thursday night, we
headed off to dinner. Pizza Delfina was perfect!
Great pizza and beer. The Salsiccia was my favorite...the
homemade sausage was delicious!
Friday morning we got up, had a light breakfast at Arlequin Cafe
(I'd highly recommend their homemade granola),
and headed out for Muir Woods.
It was such a nice day
so we decided to head out for a
2 mile hike around the park.
Thanks for pushing the tree off the path, Jon!
I know I'm not very tall, but the Redwoods make
me look even smaller than I am!
Saturday morning we headed to the Ferry Building
for breakfast and to pick some stuff for a picnic lunch
(our standard while on vacation).
I got the Morning Muffin from Mariposa. It was SO good.
Very moist and filling...it had carrots, apples, raisins,
walnuts, and coconut in it.
For our picnic, we picked up some cheese
from Cowgirl Creamery, salumi from Boccalone,
sourdough bread from The Acme Bread Company,
some pears from the farmers market, and a
couple squares of Ghirardelli chocolate.
Detroit cheese in SF!
Picnic time in Golden Gate Park.
We took a nice long walk back to
our hotel through The Haight. Luckily,
it was downhill the whole way!
We also met up with some of Jon's friends
from when he lived in London...they just happen
to live in SF now! We had a great dinner at
Suppenkuche...a traditional German restaurant/beer hall.
The sausage, sauerkraut, potato pancakes, and beer hit the spot.
Yup, I'm definitely German!
We finished up our night at Martuni's for
martinis and entertainment! They have a great piano bar
and some great local performers. My favorite was a very creative
and emotional rendition of I Wanna Dance with Somebody.
It was great weekend filled with great memories!

This is my third attempt...I have no idea what I'm doing! :) It looks like you guys had an amazing time with awesome weather! I'm so glad it was a great trip. Miss you so much!! :)
